 More than just a helmet bag.....
Multi talented Ryan Smith is as comfortable on asphalt as he is on dirt. With over 40 multi-divisional wins in 2008-09 this 22 year old Pennsylvania wheel twister is surely one to watch as he climbs the ladder of success. Ryan's experience over the years has helped him understand the dynamics of race car adjustment. Ryan is a hands on driver who can adjust a chassis as well as he can get around the track.
Communication is the key to victory and this is where Ryan excels. Ryan knows what the car needs and can communicate with his crew chief to improve the handling of whatever he is driving. In the absence of a crew chief, Ryan gets out the tools and goes to work. Some driver just bring a helmet bag to the race, Ryan bring his tools!
With over 150 career wins in several different divisions of racing on dirt and asphalt. Besides 5 track championships, Ryan also claimed the 2006 Ford Focus Championship as well as claiming the 2007 ARDC Midget Series "Rookie of the Year". Ryan is always a threat to win when he straps in to whatever racing machine his is asked to drive. Ryan accomplished the "Top Feature Winner in the Northeast" title in 2009 in the microsprint division with over 20 feature wins.
The soft spoken Smith does most of his talking on the race track. This 3rd generation wheelman is ready and able to step up the challenge and race toward victory lane! Ryan had be recognized by many high profile owners because of his ability the understand and even work on any car he is asked to drive. Keep you eye on RYAN SMITH!
In 2011 Ryan finished off his season at Eastern States in Middletown, NY in the Todd Lieto 305 Sprint car and then at Suquehanna Speedway in the Lieto - Davey Brown 410 teamed up with Donny Kreitz #69s.
2011 - ARDC Midgets, Jerry & Karen Steward Racing #33
ARDC Midget: Raced the entire 2011 ARDC Midget season with 4 feature wins! The team struggled this season with a battery issue forcing 5 DNFs. The team rallied in the final event at Susquehanna Speedway coming from the 20th starting spot to finish 9th, following a no start battery problem again in the feature. A ton of perseverance was required! The Steward Racing Team also went west for the Midget SpeedWeeks in IL & IN qualifying for 3 out of 4 nights with a smaller engine but with a strong determination! A top 15 finish was a win for the team achieving this 3 of 4 nights! Next year - the team will go with more HP to be equally competitive!

On July 17, 2010 Ryan won his first CRSA 305 Sprint Feature at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, NY. The dream to race at OCFS turned into a WIN at Orange County for the Tresch Motorsports Team! Congratulations to John Tresch and team! (see victory lane photo below)
